An inflection point. There's one day every year for me when I drive home at a reasonable hour and it's just a bit too dark. It's the day I realize it's now about days to winter, not days since summer. The day just got non-linearly shorter.
The Bay Area really just has two seasons. As far as I'm concerned, today is the start of the other one.

agree. I'm all about sweaters and boots right now. But I think just as I get my winter clothes out we'll see a few more days of our summer in the next week. Thank goodness for the layering concept.

Yeah. I think the really noticeable difference is in the mornings: within the last week or two, 6:30am has gone from sunrise to pitch black, and it's kind of unpleasant.
